FAQs
Below you’ll find answers to some typical questions that I’ve gotten in the past. Click through and if you don’t find an answer, please get in touch.
What can I expect from the first session?
Our first session is really for getting to know each other. I’ll ask brief intake questions to understand why you are seeking support and some context behind it. This will help us find suitable starting points for our time together and your expectations. You are also welcome to ask me any questions you have about myself or the counselling experience.
Are my sessions covered by MSP or extended health insurance?
General MSP does not cover counselling but most extended health plans do cover a portion or all of a counselling session. You will need to check your personal benefits, usually under the extended health registered counsellor section. After payment is received I will send you a receipt that can be used to claim insurance reimbursement.
What are the fees for the sessions?
Individual Session in person or virtual (50 mins in person): $145
Couples Session in person or virtual (65 mins): $180
How do I pay for the sessions?
E-transfer is the current payment method. Credit will be available soon.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours notice to allow your counsellor to fill the slot. For the first missed or late-cancelled appointment, there is a 50% charge of the session fee and any subsequent missed appointments will be charged the full session cost.
What happens if I need to speak to you between sessions?
You can contact me via email or text message between sessions if needed. I’ll reply as soon as possible and might be able to schedule an emergency appointment if something important has come up for you.
